Validity begins the moment your eSIM first connects to the local network at your destination — not when you buy or install it. You can install days in advance without losing any days.

When does my validity start?
Can I share via hotspot?
Yes — BellRoam plans support hotspot / tethering unless a plan page states otherwise. Turn on Personal Hotspot to connect a laptop, tablet, or a second phone to your travel data.
How do I check my data usage?
Your phone tracks usage under Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data, per eSIM line. For per-day plans, the high-speed allowance refreshes each day of your validity period.
Can I make calls and send SMS?
Most BellRoam plans are data-first. Some networks allow domestic calls/SMS but require a separate top-up — this is noted on the plan page. For voice and messaging, apps like WhatsApp, Zalo, Messenger, and FaceTime work over your data.
Will Google & WhatsApp work in China?
Our China eSIM plans route through international roaming, so services like Google, WhatsApp, and Instagram work without a separate VPN. Install the eSIM before you enter mainland China. We can't guarantee any specific service, as local regulations can change.
